Tonight’s tune comes from the Baltimore, Maryland musical ensemble Animal CollectiveAnimal Collective reviews, and their 8th studio album Merriweather Post PavilionMerriweather Post Pavilion reviews. Released on January 6th of 2009, the album has won over music critics almost universally; Pitchfork Media awarded the album a 9.6/10, the highest score for a new release since Arcade Fire’s FuneralFuneral reviews in 2004. Unlike many other albums that have garnered significant acclaim, Merriweather Post Pavilion has also experienced commercial success, peaking at #13 on the Billboard Top 200 and at #2 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums.
