Stephen McBean and Amber Webber deliver grungy anthemic performances on today’s track No Satisfaction, from the Vancouver-based indie-rock collective Black Mountain‘s self-titled 2005 release. Generally regarded as a critical success (ironically, one of the few negative reviews comes from PopMatters, who critiqued the band for taking themselves too seriously), the album marks the debut-effort of the project which is founded by Pink Mountaintops front-man Stephen McBean. In 2008, the band would follow the album up with their sophomore full-length effort In the Future, which would go on to earn a nomination from the Polaris jury for Canadian album of the year.
O, muse,
I’m embarassed,
Of what happened.
Let’s light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can’t get no satisfaction,
We can’t get no satisfaction.
Hurry, hurry, hurry,
Miss contractions.
Let’s light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can’t get no satisfaction.
‘Cause everybody likes to,
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
And everybody likes to,
Clang bells around.
O, muse,
I’m embarassed,
Of what happened.
Let’s light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can’t get no satisfaction,
We can’t get no satisfaction.
‘Cause everybody likes to,
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
Hang around,
They like to clang around.
‘Cause everybody likes to
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
And everybody likes to,
Clang bells around.
