Today’s post comes to us from Glasgow, Scotland, where the band Camera Obscura originated in 1996. If Looks Could Kill is off the band’s third album Let’s Get Out of This Country, released in June of 2006. On an interesting side-note to the album, the first song (Lloyd, I’m Ready to Be Heartbroken) is actually a response to the Lloyd Cole and the Commotions‘ song Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken?. If this post has whet your appetite for Camera Obscura, the band released their fourth LP, My Maudlin Career, on April 20th of this year.
Tell me
Tell me
Tell me where it all went wrong
Maybe I can make it better
Tell me where it all went wrong
Cause you know that you really upset her
When you act like a man who is cross with every woman he’s never had
If it’s true looks could kill then you will be the first to make me mad
Then you’ve got to go
Maybe you’ve got to go
Is this the kind of fate you could contemplate
A breakdown at my very sight
I promise hidden words of tenderness in every single line that I write
Still you act like a man who is cross with every woman he’s never had
If it’s true looks could kill and you will be the first to make me mad
Then you got to go
Maybe you’ve got to go
Tell me where it all went wrong
Tell me where it all went wrong
Maybe I can make it better
Tell me where it all went wrong
Tell me where it all went wrong
Still you act like a man who is cross with every woman he’s never had
If it’s true looks could kill and you will be the first to make me mad
Still you act like a man who is cross with every woman he’s never had
If it’s true looks could kill and you will be the first to make me mad
Then you got to go
Maybe you’ve got to go
If it true looks can kill
If it true looks can kill
If it true looks can kill
Yeah it’s true looks could kill
