Cocorosie – Good Friday

Good Friday comes from the American-living-in-Paris duo CocoRosie’s first album La Maison de mon rêveLa Maison de Mon Rêve reviews.  Created in the bathroom of Sierra’s Paris apartment in 2003, the album was originally only intended to be distributed among friends.  In 2004, the girls signed with an independent record label and re-released the album under the Touch and Go Records banner.

After a stretch of down time, CocoRosie released a new single in May of 2008 entitled God Has a Voice, She Speaks Through MeGod Has a Voice, She Speaks Through Me reviews.  For fans of the band, this hopefully marks the early stages of an upcoming full-length release.

I once fell in love with you
Just because the sky turned from gray
Into blue
It was a good friday
The streets were open and empty
No more passion play
On st. Nicholas avenue
I believe in st. Nicholas
Its a different type of santa claus
