Song Review
I’ve got a gem for everyone today from the Fullerton, California indie-rock/soul band Cold War Kids. We Used to Vacation was the title track from an EP the band released in 2006, and was also the opening track to the band’s debut full-length release Robbers & Cowards. Robbers & Cowards would be most successful in the UK where it peaked at #35 on the UK Albums Chart in 2007. On an interesting side note, the song borrows the line “I give a check to tax deductible charity organizations” from the Bob Dylan 1965 tune Ballad of a Thin Man.
I kissed the kids at noon
then stumbled out the room
