First off, a message to everyone who has emailed BowlingStone.com in the last couple months, sending in music, asking for info, or just saying whats-up. If we haven’t gotten back to you yet, it is not because we are being d-bags, we are just wicked wicked busy. I plan on digging into the 200-ish unanswered emails tonight, so have faith.
Tonight’s tune comes to us from the Canadian indie-rock band Human Highway, and their debut album Moody Motorcycle which was released in August of 2008. The Sound was the lead single to the album, and ascended to the top position on CBC Radio 3’s R3-30 chart in October of 2008. Human Highway consists of singer-songwriter Jim Guthrie and Nicholas Thorburn, who also play together in the Canadian indie band IslandsIslands reviews

Got nothing left but it ain’t bringin’ me down
I’m just gonna follow the sound
And the sound is pleasing
When it sounds like it is breathing
There’s no one around
To hear the notes falling down
Nobody seems to care
The feeling isn’t there
Like it was all a bad dream
Now we’re looking everywhere
You keep searching
You keep on searching
Got nothing left but it ain’t bringin’ me down
I’m just gonna follow the sound
That ringing in my ears
Oh whats that sound
It’s the cold death knell
Of the big ships bell
See the strings unwound
See them lying on the ground
Can’t pick up your guitar
Cause you’ve forgotten the sound
We’ll keep searching
Keep on searching
Got nothing left but it ain’t bringin’ me down
I’m just gonna follow the sound
