For whatever reason, we’ve received an obscene amount of traffic to the website today; I feel obligated to post up the 2nd song of the day in response to this. Thirty Reasons comes to us from the Toronto, Ontario indie-rock band Octoberman and their third full-length album Fortresses, released on September 1st in Canada and set for release on October 1st in the US. I actually had an opportunity to check the band out tonight here in Calgary, but chose to have dinner at my parents’ place instead. On the surface this may seem like an incredibly terrible decision. However, when you don’t cook (ever), a meal that isn’t delivered in a take-out bag holds extraordinary value. For more from the band, check out their MySpace here or their website here.
Edit: After watching the video again, I’ve decided there is something incredible about a girl bobbing her head to your song while she’s breaking your heart. That is all.
Well I’ve got thirty reasons for
you to come back home
and stick around for good
But you’ve got thirty reasons to
stay away from me
and start a brand new day
start a brand new day
So I’m back
with thirty reasons for
you to come around
and settle down with me
But I know
there are thirty reason you
have to break away
and set out on your own
on your own
And I know that we’ve both got two states of mind
And this time North amazed the South
And I’m sure that it’s hard for us to sing
When we both got something stuck inside our throats
So please choose
my thirty reasons, not
your thirty reasons for
might bring me peace of mind
peace of mind
