Lunchtime post today, featuring another tune from the BC indie-rock ensemble Pink MountaintopsExecution can be found on the group’s 2009 release Outside Love, and is a great example of the shoegazing sound that the band can conjure up; the vibe in this song reminds me a lot of the My Bloody Valentine track Sometimes, which can be heard here.  Though not short-listed, Outside Love did make it onto this year’s long-list for the Polaris Music Prize

Well I will fight to stay your execution
Well I would die to save your soul
We’ve seen trouble and fiery waters
And the evil locked to our hearts of gold

Yes sometimes you’re an abomination
Yes sometimes you bury me
Well in our grave composition
Rotten fingers on my hand
Promise me that in the end
We will find our true love again

Well I have seen all that we have broken
I’ve seen the frames, I’ve felt the shame
But I’ve seen magic fly from your fingers
And shows light, shines more than we believe

In this old town your an abomination
Yes sometimes you bury me
Well in our grave composition
Rotten fingers on my hand
Promise me that in the end
We will find our true love again

Well in our grave composition
La da da da da da da

  • it sounded slightly generic in the beginning but it grows on you by the end. i checked out their myspace and they got a few other solid tracks.
  • Yeah it's a very solid album. I was a little surprised it didn't make the Polaris short-list this year.
