Plants and Animals – Bye Bye Bye

In an attempt to get into gear for the upcoming JunoJuno reviews awards (March 29th), I’ve decided to try and highlight some of my favorite nominees over the next 2 weeks.  Today’s winner is Montreal indie-rock band Plants and Animals, whose album Parc Avenue is nominated for Alternative Album of the Year.  Just so everyone is aware exactly how bad-ass a win in this category is, the last 4 winners have been Arcade Fire, City and Colour, Broken Social SceneBroken Social Scene reviews, and Feist.  

Released in February of 2008, the album was also a nominee for the Polaris Music Prize alongside notable acts Black MountainBlack Mountain Side reviews and Holy FuckHoly Fuck reviews.
