Said the Whale – This City’s a Mess

Today’s tune comes from Said the Whale, a Vancouver based indie-rock band that I have really really been feeling over the last couple weeks.  This City’s a Mess can be found on the band’s full-length release Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia, which is actually a 2008 re-release of the bands debut album Taking Abalonia, with the addition of 7 new tracks.  On a side-note, even though I had to miss the show, Said the Whale was the opening act for City and Colour last week at the Jubilee here in Calgary.

Making small talk with the sky again
Catch a snowflake on my tongue,
Make a wish that daylight comes again

Poke my nose out through the blinds,
Hope to God it sticks this time
Daylight breaks and sun comes up,
Watch as our white Christmas turns to mush
