Tegan and Sara’s new album SainthoodSainthood reviewsSainthood reviews,  scheduled to be released on October 27th of 2009, was leaked over the weekend.  I’m not a big fan of downloading music without paying, especially when I genuinely dig the band, so I’ll wait to get the full version.  However, while we wait for the release date, I see no harm in sampling a small taste from the new album.  On Directing is the 4th song on the sisters’ 6th full-length album.  Like their last album The ConThe Con reviewsThe Con reviews, Sainthood was produced and mixed with the help of Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla.

You’re directing me
Your eyes focused like a microscope
Cuts you need
Eyes focused like a microscope

Go steady with me
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen
I get talking like a teen

You’re directing me
You’re dressed up I lose my grip my focus
Make those eyes at me
I lose my grip I lose my focus

Go steady with me
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen
I get talking like a teen

You’re directing me (Hold onto me)
Your eyes focused like a microscope
Get the cuts you need (Hold onto me)
Eyes focused like a microscope

You’re directing me (Hold onto me)
You’re dressed up I lose my grip my focus
Make those eyes at me (Hold onto me)
I lose my grip I lose my focus

Go steady with me
I know it turns you off when I
I get talking like a teen
I get talking like a teen

This and Sentimental Tune are my favorites from this album.
  • Yeah I have to agree with you on that one. A lot of the songs off Sainthood have a bit of a harder feel (harder may not be the right word as it is still Tegan and Sara) that I haven't quite got into yet. The two you mentioned are definitely closer to their previous works.
