Once again, the Calgary Sled Island music festival caught me off guard and opened my eyes to another fantastic band. Chris and I (and Dave) were fortunate enough to see The Breeders live at Olympic Plaza, and boy was it something. The combination of dual female vocals and an awesome stage presence made for a great show; I was particularly impressed with their version of Happiness Is A Warm Gun by The Beatles which can be found here.
The Breeders are an American indie/alt-rock band consisting, presently, of Kim Deal from the Pixies, her sister Kelley Deal, as well as several interchanging members. Do you love me now? comes off the band’s second album titled Last Splash, which recieved mixed reviews, including comments that it was uneven and unfinished. I, however, believe the only unfortunate thing about this album is the fact that it marked the start of a nine year period before the band’s next full-length release.
If I saw you now
Could I look in your eyes?
Do you think of me
Like I dream of you?
Do you wish you were here
Like I wish I was with you?
Youve loved me before
Do you love me now?
Does love ever end
When two hearts have torn away?
Or does it go on
And beat strong anyway?
Youve loved me before
Do you love me now?
Come back to me right now!
Cmon cmon come back to me right now!
Cmon cmon come back to me right now!
Cmon cmon come on!
Youve loved me before
Do you love me now?
Youve loved me before
Do you love me now?
