The Dudes – Dropkick Queen of the Weekend

I’ve got anotherAnother Year reviews tune from my favorite Calgary indie-rock band today.  Dropkick Queen of the Weekend comes from The Dudes‘ 2006 full-length album Brain Heart Guitar.  The song would gain popularity after being featured in a Rogers wireless commercial.  Last summer (2008) The Dudes played the Calgary stop of the Virgin Festival alongside heavyweights The Flaming LipsThe Flaming Lips Embryonic reviews, Stone Temple Pilots, Matthew Good, and The Tragically Hip.

I’m just sick cause she’s too amazing,
she’s got a different sleeveless t-shirt for every occasion.

It’s the end of the week and she starts to get restless,
there’s an asterix by her name on the top of the sex list,

And she’s taking it in just as fast as she can.

when she comes to the show she don’t take shit from no man.
