Today’s song comes to us from the Toronto, Ontario indie-rock/pop group The Ghost is Dancing. This Thunder can be found on the band’s sophomore full-length release “Battles On”, which hit shelves on April 28th of this year; the album follows up the band’s debut effort The Darkest Spark, which was released in the summer of 2007. In an interview with ChartAttack.com over the summer, vocalist/guitarist Jamie Matechuk offered some insight into the places the new album was coming from: ”The new album’s title directly refers to our struggle to stay together as a band despite Jim leaving, being completely broke, massively in debt, having gone through three managers, and surviving two near-death experiences on the road”. For more from the band, and the new album, check out their MySpace here; I highly recommend the album’s title-track.
One hundred years of solid ground, you fall asleep beneath the sound
I could be wrong, I could be wrong, I could be wrong but you’re not right
Split apart we’ll always fall (apart!)
All of this time I thought that you were lonely
but you were just being strong
And all of this time you lived just like a comet
how long will you have to fall (hey hey!)
You! You talked about it
and I had a dream that we’re falling apart (”we’re falling apart”)
I could be wrong, i could be wrong, I could be wrong but you’re not right
Split apart we’ll always fall (apart!)
All of this time I thought that you were lonely
but you were just being strong
And all of this time you lived just like a comet
how long will you have to fall (hey hey!)
A mystery’s living deep in this construction
What am I supposed to do?
When all of this time I thought I was maturing
but was I just giving in? (hey hey!)
All of this time I thought that you were lonely
but you were just being strong
And all of this time you lived just like a comet
how long will you have to fall (hey hey!)
A mystery’s living deep in this construction
What am I supposed to do?
When all of this time I thought I that you were lonely
but you were being strong
