I’ve got anotherAnother Year reviews
track tonight from the Canadian indie-rock band Tokyo Police Club. After getting hooked on the band’s first full-length album Elephant ShellElephant Shell reviews
, I started digging into some of their older stuff. Box comes from the band’s second EP Smith EP, a 4-track extended play released in October of 2007. Though critics were disappointed that the release wasn’t the band’s long-awaited first LP, they universally approved of the music. On a side note, the EP marks another successful notch in the belt of the Canadian indie label Paper Bag Records.
There’s a good chance
We won’t make it to the
Big dance, they all owe us
Kisses for two
So if I may (And the world is warm till it blows out)
I will take the first steps (And the box is wet so if I tell)
And say I feel like drowning (And the ice is cold but it wont melt)
‘Till the end of the month
‘Cuz I am a fake
Who sticks to his guns
It’s what I know, son
And it comes easy
To a liar like me
And it comes easy
Colours are bleeding
Into grey, I know you’re
Feeling down and baby
I want to get down with you
Now if I can say (And the world is warm till it blows out)
You look fine in our frame (And the box is wet so if I tell)
Upon my bedroom wall (And the ice is cold but it wont melt)
‘Cuz I am a fake
Who sticks to his guns
And lets the bitches run
And it comes easy
To a scum bag like me
It comes easy
