I’ve decided to start the weekend off with another fine song from the Abbotsford, British Columbia indie-rock/dance-punk quintet You Say Party! We Say Die!. Laura Palmer’s Prom is another number from the band’s most recent album XXXX, released on September 29th of this year; the song does well in conjuring up a dreamy 80s feel that could certainly serve as the backdrop to some kind of Brat Pack montage. At present, the band is knee-deep in a Canadian tour that will be hitting Windsor, Waterloo, Toronto, and Sudbury next week; the remaining tour stops are listed below. For all the You Say Party! We Say Die! fans south of the border, there is hope that the band will be able to begin playing the US before bassist Stephen O’Shea’s ban on entering the country is lifted in 2011. The band is currently working with lawyers to have the ban lifted in time to play the SXSW festival in March. For more from the band, and the XXXX album, check out another song we’ve posted below.

Sing with me tonight
Love in a room alright
Dance to your heart’s delight
Dance up a storm tonight
‘Cause my heart needs a love dance
My heart needs a love dance
Could your heart use some romance
‘Cause my heart needs a love dance
I wrap my arms around you and pull you to my chest
Narrow is the doorway when I will attest
That I am for you, you’re not ever alone
Words in these moments, forever untold
‘Cause my heart needs a love dance
My heart needs a love dance
Could your heart use some romance
‘Cause my heart needs a love dance
My heart needs a love dance
My heart, my heart, my heart
I run away, I run away, I run away
