Today’s song comes to us from the Abbotsford, British Columbia indie-rock/dance-punk quintet You Say Party! We Say Die!, and their brand new album XXXX, released yesterday.  The album is the third full-length effort from the band (not technically, but pretty much), and follows up on their 2007 release Lose All Time.  The band will be kicking off a Canadian fall tour in Vancouver with a CD release party on the 2nd of October.  Other notable stops include The Paragon in Halifax with Japandroids, and the Phoenix in Toronto with Little Girls.  The full schedule can be seen on their website here.

When the morning comes
And I don’t wanna face the daylight
When the morning comes
And I can’t make my body rise

When the morning comes
And the darkness presses on all sides
When the morning comes
I’ll have to fight

Now I have cried
My share of tears in the night
And felt the pain
An emptiness deep inside

Then a beautiful bird
Soared into my life
And with wings outstretched
It flew straight into my heart

There is love within my heart
There is love within my heart
There is love within my heart
There is love love love…

Now I have cried
My share of tears in the night
And felt the pain
An emptiness deep inside

But then a beautiful bird
Soared into my life
And with wings outstretched
It flew straight into my heart

There is love within my heart
There is love within my heart
There is love within my heart
There is love love love…

I will sing my soul
With wings outstretched

"I will sing my song / I will sell my soul" - I don't think this lyric is correct. It sounds like "I will sing my soul" (and just that)
  • Yeah I think you're right. I've updated it. Thank-you very much.

This album is amazing if you're coming out of depression, there's so much warmth and positivity about leaving the depths of darkness.
  • Interesting, I haven't listened to it from that perspective before.
